Fantastic! - Give Draftsmen a Listen
I've loved Marshall Vandruff and Stan Prokopenko's videos and instruction since Marshall's 1994 Perspective Drawing Series and Proko's youtube channel and website since 2012. The podcast's first episode is fantastic and acts as a FAQ series and to increase audience engagement. I look forward to more episodes and will definitely be a regular listener! Regarding fear of failure and criticism, my high school biology teacher changed the color of her pen ink when grading tests and quizzes because of the psychology of red ink (negative connotations associated). She would use green, orange, blue, etc. If you two see/read this review, I would love an episode on color psychology and theory. Personally, I work in values and grayscale that I leave color out of the equation or creation, and I feel like I can't "level-up" until I learn more or branch out. Learning how to give, receive, and value constructive criticism is important, as well as dismissing the crummy critiques. This is non sequitur, but does Marshall and Stan like comic books and graphic novels (Moore, Miller, Schuster, etc)? If a future episode mentions sequential art, then that would be tight! Also, I remember being drawn to outsider artists like Henry Darger and art brut, it would be interesting to know/learn your opinions or views on self-taught and/or naive art makers. Thank you for reading this review and I hope it helps others and the podcast.Read full review »

Fantastic conversations that are full of wisdom and applicable to any creative! The awkward fun and refreshing authenticity of Stan and Marshall’s dialogues puts me at ease and lifts my spirits. It’s a great podcast to wind down to, while also giving great food for thought.

In my opinion, Marshall is refreshingly enthusiastic, insanely knowledgeable, and charming... and then there's Proko. I'll be back when Marshall is flying solo or has a new co-host. Until then, I'm unsubscribed.Read full review »

Only con is that they’re not long enough! Very funny, entertaining, and relatable for artist young and old. Beware for any young listeners there is some swearing, so plug in your earphones and keep it away from your parents because it’s gonna be a good time.
