“I was interested to listen to this after reading previous books by Mayes and visiting Italy several times to see my relatives, but was particularly pleased to learn for the first time about such gems as the Etruscan Museum. Am anxious to read about Parma in See You in the Piazza, since my family is also from Emilia Romagna, from a small village called Salsominore, with salt water and fresh water, and wonderful food in the restaurant run by my cousin's widow. It's like traveling back in time, to see my cousin hung cinghiale, and pick porcini, and I get that sense of timelessness from this interview.
