I’m scared of drunks, I’m scared of crime, but I very much like women!

“If you'll forgive the silly, even vaguely chauvinistic title, perhaps you'll allow me to say this podcast is utterly brilliant! It's the only true crime podcast I ever listen to! And that's unlikely to change!
Now I’ll try not to let my judgement be too greatly clouded by the crush I harbour for all three detectives, but the show really is a marvellous laugh, despite being pleasingly gruesome.
The charming, knowledgeable, humorous hosts, along with their equally delightful guests, take what might otherwise be unbearably grim subject matter, and make it intriguing, morbidly fascinating, and at times inappropriately humorous! It is a joy for the ear holes.
Drunk Women Solving Crime does what all my favourite podcasts do, which is to make one feel as though hanging out with a group of good friends, having a laugh at things we probably shouldn't! There’s a wonderful camaraderie, and it’s all frightfully interesting.
Finally, do I have a 'listener crime' to share? Well I've been fairly lucky in the crime department, though no less afraid as a result, so the choices are fairly limited! I was going to (and indeed in an earlier, failed review did) write about the time while on a family picnic I found adult material in a bush, and on returning it had been removed/destroyed, but that’s probably not appropriate. So how about this? With Valentines day coming up, I was reminded of a time when I was young and in a hip-hop dance troupe (of all things), and the bloke who subtly yet relentlessly bullied me over the of years came up and handed over a bright red envelope, which he had ostensibly been asked to pass on from an anonymous admirer! Of course said envelope contained a card, with an illustration of a pair of cartoon horny devils, and written in a feminine hand the suggestion that the sender had seen me in class, liked what she (presumably) had seen, and wanted “some of that!” As you might imagine, I never found out who sent it, and always assumed it was yet another cruel joke at my expense. However perhaps I missed out on something magical?! We may never know, but pray tell me what you might deduce detectives. I rely on your intuition and clever minds!
Anyway, thank you, and keep up the excellent work!”Read full review »
