“It can't be great all the time; no podcast dependant upon the standard of the guest can be. Yet this show maintains extremely high editorial and production standards. Almost every show leaves you wanting more. For example, the ‘Hitler’s American Friends’ episode led me to dig deeper into the story of The Business Plot and the Bush family’s involvement in it. General Smedley Butler and his decision to penetrate then expose the planned coup is worth an episode in its own right. What a truly amazing character. Straight out of a spy novel.
Chris is a reflective and self-aware interviewer; something so rare in the self-centred, preening world of podcasts that he might almost be unique. He also has the knack of spotting important trends and stories. If you want proof just compare the David Neiwert episode from April 2018 to what has subsequently happened.”Read full review »
