DunePod is…
…more than just a show about books and movies related to the Denis Villeneuve masterpiece. Oh, I’ll stop there as I’ll just butcher how Haitch does it. This has got to be one of my favourite pods. I stumbled across it thanks to my friend who told me “you gotta listen to this pod in prep for the upcoming Dune movie, they talk about the books and then some other stuff and it was really insightful”. So I gave it a listen and it was fun, witty and insightful especially as I was re-reading the book at the time, and they called out things I missed. So, the book got me in but then the premise of all the movies linked to the 2021 film got me hooked. Navigating the cinematic and cultural journey to Dune via the films of the cast and crew was a nice twist but after a while, it became more than just a theme, it seemed like you were part of a likeminded group who talked about the things you talk about with your friends - even to the point where I join in the conversation out loud while walking the dog! I found out they had a Discord, so checked it out and boy is that fun too (check the show notes). Haitch and Jason are really active in the chats and the community is warm, inclusive and funny as heck! There are movie nights, threads about pets and kids and just general chat across the board. If you like the source material, then you’ll love this pod. If you like movies in general, there’ll be something for you here too. This is more than a podcast…this is. Dunepod.

But look closer. He can pass (amazing rotation of guests)? And make shots at an elite clip...Read full review »

This is an awesome podcast that covers all things Dune (movies, books, etc.), and also other movies tangentially related to Dune. The discussions are good, the hosts and guests are great, and the community around the podcast is top notch.
