“This is the Julius Randle of podcasts. At first you think on its face that it’s a one dimensional pod: boards and a few buckets here and there (I.e. a podcast solely based around the Dune franchise).
But look closer.
He can pass (amazing rotation of guests)? And make shots at an elite clip from the arc (amazing pop culture references)? Wait now Thibodeau is running the entire offense through him (impeccable chemistry between hosts Jason and Haitch)? And *checks notes* OH MY GOD THE KNICKS ARE ON A 9 GAME WINNING STREAK (Cory’s voicemails).
Point is, this podcast isn't really about Dune. It takes a 7-degrees-from-Kevin-Bacon-But-Make-It-Spice approach, using anything remotely in Dune’s cultural orbit grounds for discussion. Dune Pod celebrates content that’s come to define 21st century culture from the perspective of some truly unique folks (with similarly unique backgrounds in tech, media, and the arts) while never taking itself too seriously.
Just like how I enjoy Julius Randle throw down the rock even though I’m not a Knicks fan (Go Celtics), I enjoy listening to this pod every Monday even though I’ve never read Dune (the books sitting on my coffee table, I promise I’ll get to it).
Give it a listen, you won’t regret it.”Read full review »

“This podcast added so much to my enjoyment of Villeneuve’s 2021 Dune that I literally can’t put into words. But what’s more, they’ve helped me better understand the Herbert novels, unlocked many secrets of David Lynch’s oeuvre, and pointed me to a score of other great films to enjoy.
