“I can't think of a better way to introduce non-gamers to the amazingly entertaining world of table-top (a.k.a. pencil-and-paper) role-playing games, Dungeons & Dragons remaining the gold standard.
The adventures of Acquisitions Incorporated are not only likely to be more entertaining than most of the fantasy-themed films you're likely to find, they're made even more compelling by virtue of their being improvised before an increasingly large audience. That's right; those live games have only risen in popularity, lending merit to the argument that role-playing games are experiencing an increase in appeal and participation, even reaching demographics they may not have done historically.
Chris Perkins' facility with creating colorful and interesting adventure scenarios, coupled with the humorous and inventive role-playing of a roster of adventurers comprising Mike Krahulik, Jerry Holkins, Scott Kurtz, Wil Wheaton, Patrick Rothfuss, and Morgan Webb is something you don't want to miss if you're a fan of the game or any of its imitators.
I've listened to these podcasts often to get some inspiration for a variety of projects. I really hope you'll give it a listen
