Great Premise, Vapid, Nitwit Host
High quality guest interviews on a mostly well curated subject matter; ancient civilizations and alternative theories, fringe research and fun, sometimes brilliant speculation. Here is my problem with the show: While mostly polite, this host is an absolute idiot. In the Graham Phillips interview, he continually pulled the classic George Noory move of asking a prepared question RIGHT AFTER the guest had literally provided the answer. It's a classic hallmark of a host who is not paying attention and/or too stupid to follow along in his own interview. He also routinely mispronounced Arthur as "Author", he mixed up the terms warlord and war monger, he asked childish questions about the Knights of the RT & other ancillary characters whom were obviously added to the legend later, he couldn't think of what a Roman soldier was called... (try a legionnaire), he couldn't seem to grasp that the Roman Empire had fallen in the 5th c. and how that would have impacted Roman military records in their farthest afield former province, and on and on... Am I picking at straws? Yes, but I kind of expect a guy who is hosting a f**king ancient civs podcast to understand such basic info. On a positive note, I play podcasts on my iPhone to fall asleep, and I didn't experience the L-R audio track separation that folks listening on stereo headphones or speakers did... That said, it's just another example of why this host is in over his head with this podcast... it's technical knowledge as well as subject matter depth.Read full review »

Love the show, but PLEASE don't continue the practice of dividing the audio interview on two separate speakers!! I hear the interviewer on one side and the interviewed on the other, it is very unpleasant.Read full review »
