Toxic Hunger
I very rarely leave a review on anything but this particular episode made me upset. I came across this podcast because it had such great reviews and I wanted to listen because I was interested in the health aspect of it and ways to improve health overall. However, when I listened to this episode yesterday my mind changed about this podcast. I understand the topic of hunger and how it can be very easy to overeat especially when it’s not very healthy foods being fueled for your body but I do not agree with basically saying how carbs are bad for you. The podcast episodes mentions basically everything about carbs such as white bread, pasta, muffins, and how they are straight sugar and the first step into easily overeating. Yes, this might be somewhat true but what if someone came across this podcast episode who recently struggled from an eating disorder and when they listened to this podcast it triggered their eating disorder ways again. For me personally, I struggled in the past with looking at foods as good or bad and the calorie aspect of it including carbs like pasta and pastries and dessert. Again, I understand the science part of it but the mental health aspect of it was not looked upon at all. Maybe stressing that you can eat these CARBS you mentioned in moderation just like every food you can eat in moderation would have been better than saying to basically not eat them. Overall this was a poorly done episode.

I don’t get the Chimney Sweep/fireplace smoke/cancer connection. Chimney Sweeps don’t clean chimneys with an active fire underway in the fireplace. Therefore they are not inhaling fireplace smoke when they perform a cleaning. A more plausible cancer connection would be related to soot inhalation...Read full review »
