Fond memories
I’m 51 now & can recall the early days of acid house/Balearic as if it were yesterday. Too many of these docs focus on the negative aspect of the music revolution, such as drugs. Most of us got high - to help us dance for 12hours - but the violence that came later was always in the margins. The vast majority of us had an amazing 2 summers & will only recall the love & community sprit. Those early summers in Ibiza - KU, Pasha, Amnesia - were such an important part of who we are today it deserves a more in-depth assessment of the cultural influences, rather than always focusing on the drugs/violence/crime. People do die for consuming Ecstasy & that’s heart breaking but vast numbers of people in their middle age now only had very positive experiences. I’ve knocked off a star because of the general focus of drugs but the general narrative gave me some tingles! Great podcast.
