I went to Egypt with a tour group, but now I'm writing a novel, and this podcast helps me see what it's like when you're travelling individually too, from "taxi jumpers" around the pyramid to Karnak Temple. I also learned useful facts like the Nile flowing south to north and how to say "good" in Arabic. By Aswan, half the episode is devoted to John's upcoming trips, but I do hope he gets a bunch of guests so that he can keep up the podcasts. He does sound like an easygoing, knowledgeable guide.
