“Pastor Steve is a man of integrity who loves the Lord and is being used by God to equip his generation to change the world. Some people can't help but be hip and relevant; its the way God made them. Pastor Steve can't be anyone other than Pastor Steve and thank God; I've watched thousands of people give their lives to Christ at Elevation because Pastor Steve has a gift to reach this generation with the truth of Christ, (a generation, mind you, that is ofen difficult to understand if you are older, marcus age 123?) Of course, some people aren't so lucky and don't ever have much of an impact because they see everything through their own small view of the world and don't understand that God has a plan to reach all people, even people of a generation that respond to gimmicky titles. It's hard to win people to Christ when you are constantly judging everyone around you yet doing nothing to reach the lost. Yes - welcome to a technical, media age - you have to make things pertinent and fortunately, people of my generation respond to titles like "F" bomb because we understand the cultural implications of this and the good-hearted humor behind it - it's a loaded phrase and it challenges someone like me to think about so many things while listening to Pastor talk about Christ's radical life and read from the Word. Pastor Steve's church is the fastest growing church in the US for a reason; he is reaching a generation, he loves God and he is an example of a humble man who has a friendship with his Savior. Some people just don't get that God's plan is much bigger than their small, religious view of the world. Thank God Jesus is hip and relevant and meets us where we are without judgment and I thank God daily for my pastor and his ability to tell us the hard truth and also share the love of Christ who died for our sins.
