quick but very helpful!
I listened to the 1/11/22 episode on elderly head trauma and found it interesting that follow up appointments aren’t that common. I volunteered as an elder companion at a retirement home so falls are pretty frequent and we were required to alert nurses immediately instead of trying to help the patients up ourselves. The podcast mentioned how blood thinner medication can make elderly people more susceptible to excessive bleeding so I think that instituting “good return precautions” is essential to ensure the patients health outside of healthcare centers.
