The finest
It's hard to believe that there are no reviews for Entitled Opinions here. Perhaps there were but they were eventually archived? Regardless, Robert Harrison's show is truly the best in intellectual podcasting. I have listened to every episode, many as much as five times by now. Harrison's ability to bring to bear his very specific and deep understanding of classic literature to an incredibly wide array of topics is—there's only one word for it—awesome (or, ok, as he would probably prefer, 'cool'). This show has coloured they way I see almost every 'studyable' area in life. If you are a new listener, I recommend starting with a few episodes with topics that pique your interest (the two-hour interview with Michael Shanks was an early favourite of mine). You'll either find that that's enough for you, perhaps that Harrison's occasional bombast is off-putting... or you'll slowly grow to love the way this guy thinks and converses. If you fall into the latter camp, consider yourself very lucky, for there are hundreds of hours of programming to listen and re-listen to here, not to mention Prof. Harrison's finely-written books and, fingers crossed, more of both to come. I'm so grateful this program exists. I wish there were others like it, but I've yet to find them; there probably aren't any.Read full review »
