Great Shows: Interesting and Entertaining
I stumbled into Moises’s shows through “The Critical Path” (which I also stumbled into and highly recommend) and, although I was not hugely into movies, comics or customer support, my interest and appreciation in all three is growing and I am hooked on all the ESN shows. Moises and his guests have an “easy on the ears” style that perfectly hits the depth to be challenging and provocative but in way that is accessible to newbies. Examples: the recent Captain America shows are great discussions of the character from historical and literary views, but I didn’t feel disadvantaged because I only knew the Chris Evan’s portrayal (although now I am ordering some recommended back collections of the comics). Similarly, earlier shows on Wes Anderson’s work presented details and analysis on a level I never considered, and now I am working my way though his movies from The Criterion Collection. The ESN shows have unexpectedly interested me in new topics and ideas—and I cannot think of better praise or stronger recommendation than that.
