Predictable Bad Takes on Israel
I wanted to listen to this Israel bonus episode before rating and commenting, because seeing a link to call for a ceasefire made me think I’d be hearing a dumb take but I wanted to be 100%. Netanyahu is an idiot and like most conservative governments sees a free public broadcaster as an obstacle to their total power. Nobody is arguing against that. But you never once mentioned the Israeli hostages still being held in Gaza. Did you forget? Did you not know? The IDF is trying to bring their citizens home. Hamas can stop the war today by releasing the hostages, or most likely, letting Israel retrieve the bodies of the civilians that were raped, kidnapped, and murdered. There are thousands of rockets fired into Israel daily but they’re better at protecting their citizens than Hamas is at killing them. They tried a ceasefire already and Hamas broke it. October 7 broke the previous ceasefire. What do you think another useless ceasefire will accomplish when Hamas will break it again? Israel is the only true liberal democracy in the Middle East which is why they promote the values of Eurovision. Palestine will never be in Eurovision because they support Hamas, and under Hamas LGBTQ is punishable by death, women have no rights, and religious freedom doesn’t exist. Why do you think nobody in the region is volunteering to take in Palestinian refugees? It’s insane how you only started to pay attention on October 8th and completely miss the point of why Israel is forced to fight. Israel is trying to Free Palestine from Hamas. There will only be peace when Palestinians love their own children more than they hate Jews. I’m mad because I was looking forward to a new podcast on a topic I love but it’s disappointing to learn the hosts just aren’t that bright. Giving this show a hard pass.

More reviews of Eurovangelists
Just listened to their rationale for “not acknowledging” Israel is even in the competition and it’s completely weird. They start off with saying other countries have written songs about wars in their areas, and they’re okay with that, but Israel is doing it too, and that they’re not okay when...Read full review »

The Eurovangelists are kind and thoughtful. And funny! Insightful! Their perspectives on Israel in the contest have been so helpful. I’m still not sure about watching but I feel I have help thinking about it - and all the politics that swirl around the ESC. I will definitely keep listening!
