Recently discovered this podcast. Love it - often makes me laugh. Have always loved watching musicals both on stage and in films. Fascinating to hear the insights of people from the other side of the curtain.

Don’t know how I’ve only just discovered this podcast! Currently binge listening my way through all my favourite musicals. This has a great easy going feel to it as it is essentially just a couple of friends and enthusiasts discussing each show, that said, I’ve picked up lots of great trivia!...Read full review »

Richard Carroll and his cast of operatives deliver a glorious dive into your favourite and not-so-favourite musicals each week. It’s indulgent but not saccharine: it’s funny but also informative. I too hope there’s infinity. Kettle on. X

After only recently venturing into the world of podcasts, I had been a little disappointed at the negativity of a lot of shows I had thought I would enjoy. Then I discovered this! Utterly joyful! The first one I listened to was with Marc Shaiman about Hairspray. What a treat! Please get him back...Read full review »

Hopefully there are enough musicals in the world for Richard to never run out of content. I love this podcast - whether I am diving deep into a musical I know well or discovering something for the first time, I love the conversations between Richard and his guests. And the reprises of the theme...Read full review »

Richard is exceptionally engaging and definitely knows his stuff. His guests are great. I love the “backstage” insight they bring. Tom Sharah is a lot of fun. Worth a listen. And then another!

I really enjoy this podcast and like the new format with encore episodes. The incidental music however is awful.

Only true musical theatre peeps understand that pulling apart a show (aka in-depth analysis), the reimagining, reliving all the wonder, the feels, the talent or the side eyes over misplaced talent only heightens our love and enjoyment. This podcast is like sitting down with friends over a glass...Read full review »

Love listening to this podcast, and it already has reviewed many of my favorite shows, but I’d have to request is Disney’s Newsies and Hunchback of Notre Dame!

Love the podcast. Although, I have noticed that you haven’t done one on Dear Evan Hansen. For future reference, maybe, just maybe, invite Ben platt to your show...but maybe though

Who reviews a high school production at the level of a professional? It’s so mean! And so dismissive of musicals they don’t like. Not impressed, and not reflective of an open minded, supportive environment we’d like to associate with the world of theatre.
Stef.msk via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/01/19
Enjoyed your show, but how could you not mention Barry Bostwick’s performance? It’s not as brilliant as Tim Curry’s, but his comedic performance comes very close.

If you love musicals, you will love listening to these wonderful insights and chats. No music but don’t let that deter you! So interesting. Kept my husband, daughter and I entertained on a drive from Orange NSW to Melbourne VIC... a good 9 hours!!!

The woman in the interview is so enthusiastic and fun to listen to. Coz the host is just so dry and grumpy! I’d love to hear both people be enthusiastic about the musical - and be funny and fun!

Played Francis Fryer a hundred years ago in the 'straightest' version of 'Calam' so this came as a great shock. But still, I coped, slowly clawing for the past but smiling in spite of myself. It's fun, funny and well worth seeing. You can sit on the stage, if you dare, but be...Read full review »

I've only listened to two episodes, and as a musical theatre junkie (and teacher), I love hearing someone as passionate as me. Though I'm in the U.S. and don't get a lot of the Australian references, there is still some good insight. However, the "Wicked" episode frustrated me...Read full review »

Great podcast - glad I discovered you! (And it was Trude Rittmann who did many of those great vocal and dance arrangements for Rodgers and Hammerstein shows - she doesn’t get nearly the credit she deserves!).

Richard: Just started listening. Love you passion! Plus it's great you discuss the history of performers and the creatirs if the book and the music. Just saw Carousel on Broadway. One of the few Rdgers & Hammerstein shows I have not seen live. Love to have you review that!Read full review »
