“I’ve been giving this work a lot of attention and benefit of the doubt for the past 6 months when Lacy, say, doesn’t acknowledge white privilege or good looks as an advantage. I even moved past her elitist comments like making a “Raya for friends” or her inability to question statements or philosophies presented on her podcast, rather going along with absolutely everything said with constant “mmmmmm’s”, “wowwwww’s”, leaving no room for any type of actually expansive dialogue or exchange. Let’s all concur that failing at acting does not suffering make. I simply cannot feel pity for someone who managed to afford living on her own in Los Angeles throughout her 20’s, moving from relationship to relationship and job to job. And THAT was her most troubled, crying on the bathroom floor era. Something about the recent identity change and rebranding has put it over the top for me - the new over polished, alienating, dark “To Be Magnetic” look, feel and verbiage screams salesman, MLM, Tony Robbins, and makes it obvious that the only end goal for her authentic self is making as much money as possible on the backs of truly suffering people. A lot of the work is legitimate, expansive and grounded in neuroscience that can really elevate you. I will not discount that. But it is incredibly needed to take all of this with a grain of salt and not become entranced by the aesthetics and endless photography of one person and never ending content. At the very least, this has taught me the lesson that we all must seek answers inside ourselves and in every cell in existence and find inspiration from the whole range of sources the universe offers. You don’t have to buy into everything. This is easy to get caught up in and spend a good amount of money and time on, and the philosophy is definitely not always right. Kept a lot of this inside but finally felt it is time to speak up.”
