“I have really like a lot of this work, but have been so frustrated by the blatant ignorance displayed in this podcast and others featuring Lacy. These people really love to hide behind spirituality as a shield for the kind of insidious racism that has persisted in the wellness space for far too long. Privilege isn’t about what you have experienced, it’s about what you haven’t experienced and the notion of “color-blindness” that she uses all the time is another way of saying “I don’t want want to look at my privilege.” It’s 2018. There are STILL kids getting killed by police, children in cages, people getting lynched, and indigenous lands being taken. Being empathic is a piss-poor and paradoxical excuse to stand complicit in these times. I know all the white feminists just want to manifest their inaccessible health food and buy their $300 hats, but now is the time to show up or show yourself out. The spiritual community has the utmost responsibility in leading the way and #MeToo didn’t fix the world. Keep going, the work is not over.”
