Failure is the greatest teacher
To the host and editors and producers of this show: With all of my being—thank you for making this show. Thank you for asking David Duchovny to talk about his own failures and what he learned, and then recruiting other celebrities and thinkers to share about their own failures and what happened. Doing this helps deconstruct the socially-mandated assumption that perfection is necessary and that failure doesn’t exist—and if it does you must be punished and consigned to a memory hole for having failed. This show helps deconstruct the stigma of shame that infects the concept of failure. Listening to this show, I feel like I can take steps toward learning how to forgive myself for failing at various times of my life. Thank you, all of you, for this.

So refreshing to hear the honesty…spent so many hours on the shelf, wondering if I am ready. Who knew? Shandling and Duchovny are all time faves, thanks for getting real about the challenge.
