Wait Wait John Oliver
It's quickly become something I look forward to. It's entertaining and funny and quasi-informative, sort of like the Comedy Central "news" shows and NPR's Wait Wait Don't Tell Me with the panel of comedians discussing/making fun of the week's news. I even play it on 1x speed! It seems like Negin and her team do lots of research before each episode, which I appreciate, but my hunch is that once the comedians go off-script for humor, one shouldn't take their jokes as fact. For example, in one episode, they made a joke about the British PM's views on Brexit. But they corrected themselves in the very next episode! I consider the podcast to be the reward I get for staying up-to-date on the news via other more serious outlets, but not a serious outlet on its own. But it does often give the listener laughs something to think about, which was the goal, I assume. I love it! I had never heard of Negin Farsad before but I am a fan now!Read full review »
