Through Ep 2, a mixed bag.
After the first episode, I was ready to unfollow. This is a case that most true crime fans are going to have some pre-existing knowledge of, and ep 1 offered next to nothing in interesting content. John List yelled at kids to get off of his lawn. That’s all we get, and it is useless information. We learn nothing of the crime, the confession letter, or the background of how the crimes went undiscovered for a month. Episode 2 starts to reveal better info, but the tone is still uneven. We are given such odd tidbits as Mrs List was a total ‘smoke show’. Also, much of the material seems to be gleaned from List’s prison memoir, which the hosts acknowledge is hardly an unbiased opinion. I did like ep 2 better though and will stick with the podcast for now.
