It's Alive!
Fighting Talk mixes pub punditry with a love of sport. There's an unashamed bias toward Football but that's consistent with the massive coverage the game gets in the British media. Lovers of the beautiful game will get most from the show but it really works when the pundits clash with each other or the presenter. For that reason Colin Murray is becoming the best successor to Johnny Vaughan (O'Connell was always a bit too matey and in awe of the guests and tended to pick on Bunce for being fat and Brady for being North American whilst bowing down to the more waspish or sly panellists like Rawling or Mills). Murray is getting better at striking the balance between goading the panellists and moving the show on. At it's best the show is hilarious as ludicrous assertions (best of all in the "defending the indefensible" finale) vie with sporting truisms. It can even be riveting when a panellist shocks or challenges the others. For that reason by dream line up for an incendiary panel (going on past performances) would be: barking mad Stuart Hall, snide lower league apologist and little Englander Bob Mills, wind-up merchant Bradley Walsh and chippy hard man John Rawling. If any of them are not free then Will Buckley provides the whinging liberal posho perspective and Richard Park merrily lays in to the opposition with breathtaking arrogance and certainty so either would make up a great show.Read full review »

A truly brilliant podcast, Colin Murray is the perfect selection for a host and the guests every week are world class, To name but a few.. Greg Brady, Henning Wehn, Steve Bunce and my personal favourite Jim Jeffries make the podcast great listening. Funny to listen to every week! Keep it up!
