“I’ve been listening to this podcast for several years now, and I can confidently say that I *love* the addition of Ryan Scott to the regular lineup. I held off on reviewing for a few months to make sure my opinions were solid, but this guy really has it down. I love his perspectives and his presence behind the microphone, and I love the box-office/business focus he brings to the show. He handles the audio medium extremely well and I hopefully look forward to hearing Ben introduce him in every intro to the podcast!
On the down side, it’s incredibly jarring and disappointing when B.J. casually throws out a comment like “we live in a white supremacist society” halfway through her analysis of some movie or book. At a minimum, that claim is simply not relevant to this conversation. I would argue that’s it’s also wildly divisive and not supported by fact, but I don’t think is the medium to discuss that topic— and my main point is that that claim is not at all a widely-held or accepted belief. At this point, she slips in so much political garbage into her analysis that I turn off the episode whenever I hear her introduced.”
