“Danny, Jen, thank you for this podcast. I've listened to each of your four initial episodes, and have gotten to see so much of my own life and what was missing in my relationships. You have modeled how to communicate with a partner, and how to listen to myself in relationship. I don't think I've ever experienced such helpful modeling at any time in my life.
I am grateful for your transparency, your courage and your vulnerability, for your willingness to let us see a REAL, beautiful, working relationship, between two REAL, perfectly imperfect human beings. It's been enlightening to witness how you give each other space to work through triggers and wounds, and how you get through challenging situations because you are so connected to the love that you have for each other and for yourselves.
I was in a 35-year marriage that recently ended in divorce. As you guys shared your story with us, I just kept thinking as I listened how I wish we had known how to communicate as you do, because it might have led to a very different outcome: either my ex-husband and I would have figured things out a long time ago when we still felt that we were in love with each other, or we would have parted ways a long time ago when we were younger and had much more of life ahead of us than we do now.
I know that your podcast is going to support so many couples, and it has supported me in preparing to get out there again and look for "the one." Of course, the REAL "one" is myself, but I'm ready to dance with someone who is as committed to growth and love as the two of you are.
