What the eff did I just listen to
For a supposedly facts-driven analytical podcast, the most recent episode exploring “respect in politics“ was full of bunk science and nostalgia for a time that objectively didn’t exist. The idea that there was a mythical version of America back in the distant past in which happy citizens disagreed on policies but otherwise afforded each other basic human respect is such a blazingly stupid hot-take that I actually burst out laughing. Can you provide specific dates? Was this when America literally split in two and went to war with itself? Or during the political upheaval of 1960s, the violent protests over the Vietnam war, the civil rights movement, the Rodney King riots…? This podcast has been going downhill ever since Nate Silver became insufferable, but at this point I’m looking forward to the end of the election season when you once again inevitably fade back into irrelevance.

Most of us in the general public don’t know much about polling. This was informative, at times funny and very interesting. Try it!
