Is it 1950?
I love focus on the family and have had experience with many of their materials so I was excited to subscribe and like this podcast. However, episode after episode I felt like it was laser focused on the issues of stereotypical family dynamics from the past century. The discussions sound like an analysis of a bad American sitcom, mom is the stressed but demure martyr of a home-maker, dad the dim-witted, sports loving macho man, who is ignorant about anything having to do with kids or his wife's feelings. I have nothing against the traditional family (in fact I strongly support it) but I don't think married Christians are called to live the emotional cliches of our grandparents era. All of that aside, I do find the discussions contain worthwhile examination of real issues facing many marriages and it can even be quite thought provoking at times...when it's not deifying the wife and demonizing the husband.Read full review »

Very helpful podcast. Good content. There is some overlap of the record guest presenter and the emcees. 🙄
