Economist Saul Eslake's report into state finances, which was commissioned as part of the now defunct Lambie Network deal, has found the state's budget is in a terrible state. Eslake recommends increasing taxes on working Tasmanians and small businesses. Becher, Brad and Jack Milroy don't agree on the solution but they do agree that Saul's assessment can't be ignored.

Becher is back from Ireland and is not surprised that the TT Line debacle is still the big story in the local media. Brad declares heads must roll over slow moving train wreck.
Incidentally, he feels much the same about the Tasmanian community fund's decision to give $500K to the "yes" campaign in the federal government's failed Voice Referendum which was excoriated by the Auditor General.

The Rockliff Government a scorecard to make it's first 100 days in government. Naturally, they gave themselves a perfect score of 100 out of 100. Brad thought he'd get a second opinion and ask the panel to give them a score out of 10. Unsurprisingly the results were a little different.
