Fibre is often something that we forget about when looking at our dietary patterns. However, we know that it’s a crucial part of a balanced diet and that our bodies need it to help keep the digestive system healthy and in good working order. In the UK, it’s recommended we get 30g of fibre each day, but the latest research suggests the average daily intake is just 18g. This week’s Food For Thought sees Registered Nutritionist Dr Pippa Gibson and I discuss just how important fibre is for our overall health, and what we can do to help increase the amount we eat.
