To coincide with the recent release of his book, "Blighty or Bust", we are joined in this bonus episode by David Wilkins to tell us about the escape of Private Raymond Bailey, who was captured in 1940 during the retreat through northern France. Captured in Northern France in 1940, Coe was the very first to escape from a POW camp, escaping from a satellite camp in Danzig, from where he made the short escape to the port, and stowed away on a ship to Sweden.

A joint escape very early in the war, they spent a month trying to steal a boat to cross the channel before giving up and heading south through the recently occupied France, where they caught a boat to Oran, taking the long way round to safety.

A repeated escaper, who even managed to get married in occupied Europe while escaping, Jones eventually managed to get away from a working camp. Making rapid progress, he made his way onto a Swedish ship, reaching Stockholm less than a week after his final escape.
