Fox news reported that Obama would observe the National Day of Prayer at church instead of at the White House in such a way as to make it appear that he was cancelling the entire holiday in favor of a "paper proclamation" (their exact words) They presented his decision to celebrate with a congregation of the faithful instead of staying at the White House as, "breaking tradition," and "cancelling" his celebration, which led to wild rumors across cyberspace.
