“Although I happen to share the general secular position with the hosts Dan and Annie Laurie, they are litigious winers who prove over and over again that they are completely tone-deaf regarding how they appear to the rest of the world when they nit-pick every word of religious leaders and bring repeated law suits against them. It's true that we should all be held accountable, but ranting like an angry hornet on national television and suing every religious fool out there is beyond misguided.
This kind of "us vs. them" approach is (thankfully) falling by the wayside and a more respectful dialog is emerging -which obviously leaves the hosts of this podcast largely irrelevant. My only fear is that this growing irrelevancy will only result in a more shrill podcast as the days and months pass.
The secular humanist movement does not need this overly pedantic and legalistic vision. Perhaps a sit-down with Sam Harris would be a good idea as he manages to gracefully deal with the same problems without suing or screaming at anyone.”Read full review »
