Some good information, too often the mirror image of what they oppose
I'm a secular humanist, an empiricist, a non-theist religious naturalist. I don't affirm any deities or anything supernatural. I appreciate podcasts that help me think through modern issues, that try to encourage constructive social change, that aim to bring more reason and clear thinking into my culture. That said: this podcast doesn't really help me in that effort. It sounds too much like so many mainstream religious podcasts, only fixated on the negative. Whereas I do hear a fair amount of worthwhile content, too often it comes mixed with not-so-subtle condescension, a tone of look-how-stupid-those-people-are, enough that it overrides the otherwise relevant content. This demeanor that won't likely engage anyone who's honestly searching, thinking, questioning. I don't find this truly "free" thought as much as self-congratulatory dogma; dogmatism, whether theist or atheist, hinders truly free thinking.Read full review »

I've been listening for over a year just because I thought this was the only atheist radio show out there. The hosts are well-educated, but not good radio announcers. Spot on when on topic, but musical performances give the show a kind of fruity / carnival side show feel at times. Still worth a listen.
