A much more interesting way to keep up with the news

“I no longer have a radio in my house, or a portable radio to listen to on the bus, so it can be hard to find funny news commentary from within the UK. Luckily, BBC Radio 4 puts the rather witty Friday Night Comedy out for podcast download.
Although it's not quite as snappy as Have I Got News For You, or as consistent as The Blame Game (please oh please give us downloadable episodes of this!), it certainly fills an otherwise hellish bus journey in the morning. Although the jokes can be rather hit or miss at times, the quality of the jokes when they are done right are more than good enough to make you forgive the occasional blunder.
My only substantial complaint about the podcast is that older episodes are not kept online for people who are just starting to listen to the show. Waiting a week between episodes can be slow, when you want your fix of classic British cynicism, so having previous episodes available would be a godsend.
One last point, of course, how could anything involving Andy Hamilton possibly be bad?”Read full review »

“Given the glowing reviews found alongside this podcast, I expected great things.
Shame the best I managed was a little chuckle here and there.
Witty? Yes. Funny? Not really.”
