“For three months straight I binge listened to a true crime podcast called Sword and Scale. And every day for three months I saw the same intriguing advertisement on their website for another podcast called FRIGHTDAY. At the end of three months suddenly I was without a daily dose of darkness in my life. What was I going to listen to next? Frankly, I was in need of a fix. On a whim, I thought I’d see where this interesting advertisement would take me. Maybe. Just maybe it would lead me somewhere wonderfully macabre. Boy was I right! Oh what a happy bloody worm hole of cryptids, conspiracies, and horror into which I have fallen! (I put the cryptids and conspiracies part FIRST just for you, Captain Kelly!)
I’ve always been a fan of horror flicks. While growing up a small group of friends and myself made a pack we would only watch horror movies when we would hang out together. Years have passed and those friends have moved away. For a long while I didn’t know which way to turn in the labyrinth that is the horror genre. But, I am happy to report I am once again able to feed the black hole in my heart with its favorite pastime. Based on their reviews I now have a list that I go to whenever I want to watch a movie, start a new television series, and even pick up a new book or graphic novel.
But it’s not just the weekly cryptids or conspiracies, it’s also not just the reviews that keep me coming back for more. Quite often I find myself laughing out loud at while listening to these three. The rapport between these podcasters is wonderfully evident and more than once has brought a smile to my face. The passion with which material is provided is evident. The attention to detail in sound editing is impeccable. And the discussions between three are a healthy mix of thought provoking and laughter inducing. In other words, the hard work you put into each episodes shows and I am forever grateful for my daily dose of darkness. Thank you Bryon, Sam, and Captain Kelly!
It a shorter more concise manner. Listen to this podcast. You will not be disappointed.”
