“I always knew that our prison industrial complex was corrupt - watching OITNB made me see it from a different perspective. We are taught that prisoners are inherently bad, dangerous, evil. This is not the case - anyone who knows someone in the system knows this, however this podcast makes it very much a reality for people who don’t grasp that. This is amazing, gut wrenching, and oh so bjttersweet. I love this podcast - and we are only two episodes in. I admire Piper Kerman for using her position to open up a conversation and really bring light to these very real issues that affect every day Americans, not just people in prison. I look forward so, so much to every new episode.”
