The New North Star
I've heard of Phil Ellis before, but didn't think he had a funny face (it's too pointy) so took an instant dislike to him and his Northern ways. Cripes was I wrong! His buttery smooth linguistic tongue work and amiable manner with the hoi poloi of comedy are not only riveting, but also highly informative, like low cholesterol margarine to the ears. Quite frankly, it turns me weak at the knees. Thanks to Phil and his guests, I feel like I now know the streets of Edinburgh better than the back of my liver spotted hands and have already sampled more than enough comedy than my weakened bladder can cope with. Now I don't need to travel north of the border. Thank you Phil for making me laugh again. I never thought I would after the death of my lovely Nigel.Read full review »

Sorry but talking about comedy shows is predictably a little dull. Why not air clips from the shows?

Every episode the host mentions how lonely he is, complains his show isn't selling or he moans about how his wife got everything in the divorce. Do us all a favour and just kill yourself mate. You'll be a lot happierRead full review »
