Listen now
Description
Danielle Dobson's journey is marked by curiosity and a deep desire to understand human interactions. From her early days running a neighborhood newspaper to challenging gender norms in school, Danielle has always sought to make sense of the world around her. Danielle is all about breaking the gender code. Danielle shares insights from her research that led to her book - Breaking the Gender Code.  Our conversation delves into key themes such as leaders feeling lonely, the impact of becoming a parent on leadership, and the gender disparities in the workplace. We discuss the concept of code breakers, nurture, neuroplasticity, and the importance of consciously decoding and recoding one's own life experiences. Also  'having it all' for women, the importance of self-reflection and self-compassion in letting go of societal expectations, the process of regularly reassessing priorities, the influence of unconscious biases driven by gender codes in the workplace, and the need to break traditional patterns to create inclusive environments. We also had an interesting discussion on how societal expectations categorize women into 'pink box' and 'blue box' roles in both corporate and personal settings. Awesome must listen conversation.  **Future Fit Leadership acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we record this podcast and we pay our respect to elders - past, present and emerging.
