“The hosts are not knowledgeable about the books or the show. I have listened to this podcast on and off for a couple of seasons mainly because it's the first podcast out on Monday when I'm craving Game of Thrones content. Unfortunately, this means the hosts don't have time to gather their thoughts before they record. Even though at least one host is a book reader, a lot of mistakes are made, including pronunciation. This season so far they have incorrectly pronounced Olenna (it's oh-len-uh, not OLEEANNA or OLAINA!), Cersei (it's Sir-say, not Seer-say), Gendry (NOT JENDRY), and Sansa (should be pronounced SONSA). If they only made pronunciation mistakes, I'd be able to stick with them but there are many times the hosts don't understand the plot, the significance of certain events or misremember things. They rarely pick up on anything I hadn't already noticed. I generally have this issue with the afterbuzz podcasts, since they cover so many shows, it seems their hosts are just casual watchers. There are some better podcasts out there for viewers who want to get into the weeds (Cast of Kings, Storm of Spoilers, and Game of Thrones podcast from Bald Move).”Read full review »
