Well worth the time
Deep dive into the college admissions scandal. Episode 2 has given me a lot to think about. Kevin Blackistone’s comments about college sports, who’s really benefiting, and at whose expense brings greater meaning to the notion of “white privilege.” How some can be offended by that... doesn’t surprise me (It’s an inconvenient truth, to some). The school administrator’s comments at the beginning episode 2 - about what parents deny their children by cheating to get them into elite schools - was also straight up wisdom. After listening to episode 3, I’m more engaged. Folks who are evaluating the pod after the first episode and saying it’s boring/monotonous maybe don’t understand story-telling arcs. Some stories need intros to give background. This isn’t Star Wars! (recall it starts off with a battle scene with massive space destroyers, purposely meant to pull you in). Take the time to listen to this! Also, learning of the existence of a website to help white collar criminals navigate their jail time - 😮

Cadence is putting out some really quality shows recently with Billy Balls and To Live and Die in LA. Can only imagine this show will live up to those quality standards. And a very interesting/timely story

You think China Communist party leaders’ kids don’t go the the college they want? If it was about real crony capitalism and regulatory capture, that would be great. Oh well.
