It's clear that he spends a great deal of time researching and reading the work of the guests that he interviews on the podcast, and it makes the show a rewarding listen. Look through the show archives, too, for a fantastic survey of who's who in genre fiction. The panel discussions are also thoughtful and entertaining. I highly recommend this podcast.
