Motherhood is Frightening
Found this podcast through word of mouth and lo and behold it's pretty much custom made for me. Liz weaves the lonely anxiety of being a mother among judge mental supermoms, and crunchy knowitalls, and elementary school elitism with the right amount a old fashioned ghost stories, haunted houses and voodoo curses. There is no distracting melodramatic radio acting that hurts some of the other spooky docudramas I've listened to, she's easy to listen to even when she stumbles over a few words. It's conversational enough that you'll find yourself sipping an oversize glass of white wine and leaning into the headphones like you're chatting with a girlfriend. It's the perfect pairing with housework and trips to the park. If I have one complaint, girl needs to switch to Pinot Grig...Chardonnay is for the birds.Read full review »

I love this podcast-- Liz Sower is a terrific writer. Some of these episodes have literally given me cold chills and I am a dyed in the wool horror nerd.

That moment when you get literal and figurative chills...that leaves you wanting more...better known as EVERY podcast episode of Ghosts in the Burbs! Cozy chair, lights on (of course) or headphones in and a well-lit (of course) walking path. Listen and re-listen-if you dare.
