“I appreciate the sentiments of this podcast - reimagining the "damsel in distress" story to portray girls as the protaganist and hero. However, there are themes and words used in this podcast that are not appropriate for all ages. For example, "The Quest of the Reed Marsh" story addresses transgender topics with the main child character being born a boy but wanting to live in the world as a girl. I am a strong supporter of LGTBQ rights and gender fluidity. However, I also feel it is my right and responsibility to decide when to introduce these ideas to my child. I urge the producers of this podcast to please indicate in the descriptions of these story podcast episodes when potentially sensitive subjects like this are brought up. I should not have to turn on a podcast for my child, thinking its a fairytale, only to have questions about why a boy wants to live as a girl discussions with my 6 year old. Furthermore, the language in this podcast is beyond what I would consider to be appropriate. When fairy tales include words like "shut up", the story is turned off immediately. We do not have this kind of language in our house; I would not expect a child's podcast to include it either.”Read full review »
