Misnamed
The hosts are genial company, though not comedians. (To be fair, they don’t claim to be comedians.). However, they also are not philosophers. They equate ethical porn with feminism, agency, and female pleasure. A corporate accountant does not have agency, and there is nothing unethical about her employment. If everyone consents, is paid, no one is hurt, and makes a product that others wish to view, there is nothing unethical about asymmetrical pleasure. They also seem to harbor bad actor beliefs that good acting or performance is about authenticity versus technique. The podcast is about porn that women like (high-end interior design), which is an important and interesting subject, and in the vernacular of the hosts, I’m here for it.
