Glass Houses, A Billy Joel Podcast – Unpretentious, admirable, and high quality!
This Podcast is excellent on several fronts. In terms of effort and production, the product is brilliant for something essentially a labour of love with no commercial elements, i.e., ads. Michael and Jack go to length to research the topics, with their perspectives grounded in fact and perhaps a little speculation along the way. Their approach is very much in keeping with Billy, unassuming. Whilst they are super-fans, they do not suffer fandom and do not sugar-coat everything Billy has done; instead, they give an honest account of what was and what is. Their ability to assemble interviews with second-degree connections of Billy, e.g., Liberty, Russell, Richie, Mike and connections to Doug is a real stand-out and further reinforces their endeavour's authenticity. These band-related interviews provide even greater insight, yielding fresh perspectives that reward the avid fan. Their technical insights, supplemented with related interviews, e.g., the recording engineers, further enhance this Podcast. For those not coming up with Billy in the 70s and 80s, their approach puts you into the time machine and places you in the time zone of what it must have been like with a new album dropping or a concert series. For the casual fan, this Podcast will be insightful and rewarding; for the deep-cut, master-class, bootleg-seeking aficionado, their work is timeless and greatly appreciated. It reinvigorates interest in the cannon and makes you re-listen with a different frame of reference, e.g., the Atmos version of The Nylon Curtain, associated review, and commentary. This Podcast is unpretentious in approach, admirable with the insights they obtain and of quality in the final product, clearly reflective of the time and effort they put in. They do Billy Joel and his fans justice. Well done, Michael Grosvenor and Jack Firneno, Glass Houses, a Billy Joel Podcast.Read full review »

The thing I admire most about this podcast is that the two hosts have an incredible amount of knowledge and talent in their own right, but they approach this as true fans who are humble and fun to listen to. Keep it up!
