“Hi Troy and Doug,
I wanted to write to you because I've become a listener of your podcast within the last month. I'm still playing catch up on episodes but working the midnight shift makes it pretty easy on slow nights. I really appreciate the format of your show as well and the insightful information you share with listeners. Even more I appreciate your open and honest affirmation of your faith in our Lord. Ironically, I was considering starting a podcast similar to yours but then I came across you guys and well..., you take the cake! :)
I've listened to several podcasts over the past years for gun owners but unfortunately, I've run into too much political griping. Don't get me wrong, I realize that the right to bear arms in our coutry is intricately tied to politics but I guess I have a different view of what the real problems are. I'm a resident of Chicago, Illinois and I know for most just saying that brings a variety of images into folks minds (some legit and some not).
In any case your show has demostrated balance (to me) even if we we may have (just a few) different politcal viewpoints. I'm licenced (FOID and CCW) as well as a member of the NRA. I'm also the Youth Pastor of our church and actively involved in handgun legislation here in Illinois.
I wish I had an opportunity to share with you some of the causes of the violence by handguns here. It's such a mulit-faceted problem and the solution is probably equal. Maybe one day I'll have a chance. Unfortunately, what the media shares with the public and what's really at issue are often so far apart.
In any case, I pray for your continued growth and success with the show.
