“I really enjoy these podcasts, and I have learned quite a lot from some of them. Probably the most important thing I've learned has been course management topics - things like playing par 4s as if they're par 5s since that's probably what I'll get anyway, playing from the proper tee box, and recognizing and accepting that I'm probably not going to make the green in 2 on most holes. I've taken several of the tips and applied them to the rounds I've played recently, and darned if I'm not shooting lower.
I've always shot around 100. Sometimes a little less. Sometimes a little more. This weekend, I played a course I'd never played before. I was playing with my 11 yr old son, and we played from the foreward tees. I concentrated on shot selection. Instead of going for the green on the par 4s and 5s, I chose to lay up and stayed out of the green-side bunkers and other hazards. Instead of stressing out over my shots, I relaxed and enjoyed the round with my son. It was the most enjoyable and lowest-scoring round ever. I shot 90, and if not for the very 1st hole when I got hung up in a fairway bunker, I'd have been in the 80s. That's something I never thought I'd be able to do.
Listening to the Golf Smarter podcast got me to change the way I approach the game. I'll never be a Tiger Woods, but at least I'm improving and enjoying the game more. Thanks a bunch.”Read full review »

The interview format works well, and although the host (Fred Greene) sometimes allows the guests to wander from the topic, the conversations are interesting. Being an Aussie listener means I'm unlikley to visit most of the courses...”Read full review »
