“Listen to one episode, and thought it was fairly good until one guys started talking about shrinking the game instead of growing it. Just a little basic economics here, supply meets demand. So what happens when there are less golfers? Course closure equaling less courses, more expensive green fees, less golf brands, less golf innovation, basically just less golf.
This guy was ranting in about how if less people played he wouldn't have to wait to play a round, and how some courses should only allow people with a 5 handicap or lower to play. Although I agree slow play is a problem, this is the dumbest solution I've ever heard. My guess is that the aren't a lot of 5 handicappers out there, so to keep a course like that in business, the green fees would be in the thousands. Is that what you really want?”Read full review »
