Great stories, inappropriate voice acting.
When I listen to a true crime podcast, I'm listening for mystery, suspense, excitement & a bit of a scare. In this podcast, the stories are great. The guests do a great job telling their stories with detail & emotion. I get quickly drawn in and enjoy it until the end. However, the host that introduces the story and concludes the podcast sounds like he is trying to evoke an ASMR response and it is annoying. I don't want to be relaxed in a true crime podcast. I want to be interested and excited. You shouldn't be trying to put your listeners to sleep, and that's what it sounds like he is doing for some reason.Read full review »

I do like this podcast, it is well researched and gripping. However I get very distracted by the narriation. The pauses in the voice work make it feel like William Shatner is telling a story. This podcast really dives in and discusses cases that are unknown in Texas and with great empathy for the victims and families.
