Grateful Grains 67.1
This was a disappointing and offensive episode. Anti aging and “curing” old age is offensive. Old age is not a disease that needs to be cured. We live in a youth obsessed culture making aging difficult. As a 71 year old woman I feel good and look good but I am becoming invisible and dismissed. There is a campaign for pro age and embracing age and being accepting of the aging process. A change of mental attitude and healthy lifestyle choices would be more positive and empowering. I kayak, camp, bike and hike. I do my own yard work. I load and unload my kayak and bike by myself. I pitch my tent and take it down by myself. What is it you want to cure? I also live with some aches and pains, so what. Embrace today. Hopefully I will continue to age gracefully for another 20 years with diminished physical abilities. Personally I don’t want to live forever but I do want to live my best life. I struggle accepting and loving my wrinkles and body changes after menopause, because of our youth glorifying culture. Aging is a natural and inevitable process that should be accepted and respected and embraced. Not everyone is lucky enough to live into old age. There are young people with physical disabilities who need to overcome or work around to live there best lives. I’m deeply offended by your anti aging podcast.
